NATIONAL FLAG

National Flag


India's flag was adopted on July 22, 1947.

 HISTORY:

  • The Congress Working Committee appointed a seven member Flag Committee on 1931-04-07. Later the Final resolution on flag was passed when the congress committee met at karachi in 1931. The tricolour flag then adopted was designed by Pinaki Venkaya.
  • The National flag of india was adopted its present from during an as-hoc meeting of the Constituent Assembly held on the 22 July, 1 947.

DESIGN & SYMBOLISM: 



Top- deep saffron (Kesari)= stand for courage, sacrifice and renunciation.

Middle- White=stand for truth and purity.

botton- dark green= stand for life,abundance and prosperity.


  •  In the center of the band is a navy blue wheel which appears on the sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka. The 24 spokes of the wheel correspond with the 24 hours of the day, implying that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.


DHARMA CHAKRA:


In the center of white band is a blue wheel with 24 spokes. Chakra is the symbol of progress and movement.It shape is rectangular.
